The video surveillance market proposes two distinct solutions: thermal cameras and visible cameras. Visible cameras work well in daylight for target tracking of intruders, but are ineffective in low light conditions and deep shadow. Thermal cameras can detect intruders in total darkness, but cannot be used for trespasser identification. These surveillance system shortcomings mean that industry needs are not being met.
